About

Hey there! I wake up before 3 o’clock every weekday morning to anchor and report for the Eyewitness Morning News on WWL-TV (the local CBS-affiliate) in New Orleans.  I was born and raised in New Orleans, and I am having a blast building my professional life here.  I left New Orleans for college in New York, but after a series of unfortunate events, I landed right back at home and things took off in the right direction.  My life story is filled with lots of divine intervention (what else could it be!)

Thanks to a scholarship from Soledad O’Brien’s Powherful Foundation, I was able to graduate from the University of New Orleans and my love of writing led me to the world of journalism.

Just a few months after graduation, WWL hired me as an associate producer for the morning news.  In three years, I was promoted four times.  I went from associate producer to traffic reporter to field reporter to anchor to host of my own entertainment show, “The 504,” named after our area code in New Orleans.

Being on-air came with so many assumptions: I’m rich, I have everything figured out, I always dreamed of being on TV- all wrong! My career has been a wonderful journey but it’s not perfect and being on TV wasn’t a magical fix for the growing pains of life, but I am having the most amazing time learning and living.  I am excited to share more of my story with y’all on my blog, Off Air.

I am available for speaking events and appearances.
